A colleague of me wanted to surprise his wife for her birthday with a special gift and asked me to make a painting of their kids.
Here’s the result…
size: 40 – 50 cm.
Glad I can say that she loved it!!
I’m already busy with an other assignment but ofcourse I can’t tell you more about that. (Yet)

Last week I went to a concert of Douwe Bob (a young Dutch singer/songwriter). I really LOVED it!! The music, his voice, the lyrics… FANTASTIC!!!!
In my enthousiasm I decided to paint his portret:
afmeting: 40 – 80 cm.
I made this painting after a photograph which I found on the internet. Here’s a pic of the original photo, made by Roger Cremers. He’s a professional photographer from Amsterdam.
And some pictures of the concert:
After the concert Carmen and I had our picture taken with Douwe Bob.
We already booked concert tickets for the 18th of October in Bergen op Zoom!! (that’s only a one hour drive by car).

This morning I loaded my paintings in the back of my car and drove to Vlissingen.
For the next few months they will decorate the walls of Grand Café De Schutterij!!!
I love how their colours match with the furniture… and I hope to get some good comments and the upper best would be to sell one… or two… or more!!!
I will let you know!!

The holidays are over, last week school started for the kids and I had to go to work again.
Now, early at a Saturdaymorning, I finally have the time to show you my latest paintings…
size: 50 – 70 cm.
size: 50 – 70 cm.
size: 60 – 60 cm.
This isn’t a long blogpost because I still have a lot to do for the upcoming exhibition, one week from now…!! (see more about that in my former post).
So I better get started!! Hope to be back soon!!

The first week of my holidays rushed by… I managed to do a lot of painting! I can show you two new ones!
The first one is Liza Minelli, painted in neon colors…
and the second one is Marilyn Monroe, painted in the same style as I painted James Dean (they sort of belong together I think…)
Ofcourse there is another reason for me to produce so many paintings lately besides the fact that I LOVE painting…
I’ve been asked if I was willing to show my paintings in Grand Café De Schutterij in Vlissingen… as in a real exhibition!!!! Uhhhm… I didn’t need to think about that for a long time… YESSSS!! They thought my colorful paintings would look great in their Grand Café and after I found a picture of it on the internet, I think so too:
And there is more….
A lady who ownes a fashion shop (also in Vlissingen) asked me if she could use some of my paintings in the shopwindows during the filmfestival Film By The Sea. A yearly event which brings lots of people to this city!! So a great opportunity for me to show my work to all those extra visitors!!
There was/is only one ‘but’… Both events take place in the same period…
Because I want my paintings in both places means I have to have a lot of paintings… and that’s why I’m working so hard lately.
So no more blogging right now, back to another canvas!!

Here’s the painting I was talking about in my former post; same style, same technique but a litlle different from the rest because the ‘face’ is set up in two colors and therefore I had to make the background not to ‘wild’….
Here’s James Dean….
size: 50 – 50 cm.
It’s now early Sundaymorning and my holidays have begun!! Three weeks no work… not getting up at half past 6 in the morning… no rushing, just relaxing, having fun, spend more time with my kids and do some serious painting (I’ll explain that later….)!!!
