Green and orange….

I don’t know why but yesterday I made two layouts and both turned out in green and orange.
No reason, it wasn´t my intention to use the same colors, it just happened and I only noticed it when the second one was finished…

The first one I made for “Scrapping the Music“, #153, “Hand in my pocket” by Alanis Morissette.
I used a huge picture of myself (I printed that one months ago but never used it… and for people who don’t know me that well… I can’t  throw things away easily…)

Take a walk to my dad´s poem…

Hi everybody!!
I managed to squeeze some creating time into my busy schedule this week! To be honest…. most of it was done yesterday; a whole Saturday just for myself and my hobby… YEAYYYYYY!!

First I made this one for “These are a few of my favorite things“. You have to make something about your fave poem this time.  It took me a while before I got this idea, I’m not a poetry lover you see… (sorry…)
And then I thought of my “poeziealbum” (for my not Dutch friends: that’s an album where you let your family and best friends write their wishes for your future in…).
I thought of the beautiful verse my dad wrote/drawn into it and decided that’s what I wanted to use on my fave poem page….

Last week I bought myself a nice warm blancket (evenings are getting colder you see…) to crawl into when I’m sitting on the couch watching TV.
As packing material I found this piece of cardboard inside and it just looked too good!! I couldn’t throw it away! Instead I used it for the background of this LO.
I used gesso, glimmer-mist, puffy paint, ribbon, buttons and silk butterflies. Oh… and the piece where the ribbon goes through… is packing material as well.

Slowly things are getting back to normal again. After the first week of all kinds of introduction festivities, school will start on Monday according the regular timetable and I also had to go to work again last week.
In my holdiays I had plenty of time to create, this week my time was limited….
But…. I managed to get a few things finished.
First I like to show you this layout:

I made this one for Scrapping the Music, challenge #151 “Get this party started” by Pink.
I just found this picture of Liam and I think it fits the Pink lyrics…
First I painted the background, used pink to refer to the artist.
The black swirls are cut out of felt, the pink and black “things” are made of dried paint. I “found” them inside the cap of tubes of paint. Usually I throw them away but they look great on this layout!!
For the rest I used neon markers, tape, black ink, puffy paint and some doodles.

My first collage on canvas…

The “lazy” days are over… back to work next week!! I wouldn’t mind having three more of these work-free weeks though!!
Not getting up early and just do whatever you feel like doing… ahhh well, at least I did have a good time!!!

First I wanna show you this collage….

I adore making collages, usually making them on 12 -12 paper or smaller. I thought it would be fun to try something different: I made this one on canvas!!!  The size of this canvas is 40 – 50 cm.
First I painted the background; red from the outside to yellow in the middle. Then I sprayed orange glimmer mist onto the wet paint.
In the beginning it was a bit strange to work this “big” and I couldn’t use my black and white pens because of the structure of the canvas… I have used paint and brush to do the journaling and all the black and whites…!
Finally I added a top layer of gel medium on it, just to protect it.
I was planning to enter this work for a challenge at the weekly challengeblog The Three Muses…. But this canvas took a little bit more time than I expected so I didn’t make the deadline…
