Queen Beatrix

On the 31st of January our Queen Beatrix will celebrate her 75th birthday. Therefore a Dutch television station challenged everybody to make a portrait of her. It doesn’t matter how or what. It can be a painting, drawing, sculpture, knit-work or whatever!!
The best works got to be in an exhibition at The Loo Palace…! How cool is that??
I made two paintings, here’s the first one:
size: 60 – 80 cm.
and this is the second one:
size: 40 – 50 cm.
The deadline is January 15 and shortly after that date the winners will be announced…!
I hope I will be one of them but there are soooo many fantastic entries!! Take a look here…

I love them both but I prefer the top one – great work Lena! I just looked at all the entries (pfew, there are a lot!) and it’s very mixed – all kinds of techniques and styles. The jury will have a hard job, I’ll keep my fingers crossed they choose you as one of the winner. Should be so cool, to have your art hang in the palace!
Ben het helemaal met Marit eens: ze zijn allebei práchtig maar de bovenste is toch wel mijn favoriet!!! Die kleuren, zo geweldig!! Ik ga voor je duimen hoor!
